Dogs are an incredible addition to ANY Family! Summer, our Golden Retriever, came into our Family as a pup. She's now 3 1/2 years old (as of January 2025). And she's everything you'd hope a family-dog to be!
Goldens are known to be a breed that loves to please. Yet we have to say that they are an anxious breed; meaning, they play a lot off the emotions of their owners. It isn't uncommon for Summer to be at our feet when we're having a bad day. Of course, she means no harm - but she simply wants to be near to us, to comfort and to be a part of the Family.
She's amazing with our kids. We've never heard her growl. We've never seen any aggressive behaviour from her - towards us or the children. We suppose some of this is due to her training. But you can't take the soul out of a dog, we believe our jobs are to encourage and cultivate their dog-souls!
When deciding to add a family-pet to the mix of your Family, we can't recommend Golden Retrievers enough! Why did we bred her to a poodle then, you ask?! Golden Doodles are hypo-allergenic, so you get the best of both worlds: a faithful dog for life and little to no physical annoyance in the Home (again, training is key!).
